Abstract Operating a radio-frequency ion thruster (RIT) requires high frequency current flowing through an induction coil in order to ignite and maintain inductively coupled plasma discharge (ICP). Several methods create that have been demonstrated evaluated regarding complexity, flexibility efficiency. Especially space applications reliability minimal power loss is crucial comply strict mission requirements. As one of the leanest concepts terms required components nevertheless highest possible efficiency, Class-E circuit has proven itself as well suited generator (RFG) RIT system. However, electrical performance especially electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) during operation not evaluated, but are essential if system intended for use space. In fill this gap bring into fold established RFG concepts, prototype was designed, built, used operate RIT-10. For reference, conventional Half-Bridge tested under same operating conditions. Further investigations concerned with EMC behaviour both devices show exhibits significantly lower emission compared reference.
